Bengaluru: In the first-ever Airport Service Quality survey that was conducted in various airports around the world, the Kempegowda International Airport has scored the highest rating.
The quarterly ACI-ASQ Arrival Survey was conducted for incoming passengers in April and June of 2018. Out of a possible five, the airport scored a whopping 4.97.
Although it was the only Indian airport to participate in the survey, it championed over other airports like the Abu Dhabi International Airport and the Toronto Pearson International Airport which came in second with 4.53 points and third with 4.44 points, respectively.
The survey was conducted for the arriving passengers for the first time and measured the passengers’ opinions in five criteria: disembarkation, immigration (only for international passengers), baggage reclaim, customs and airport infrastructure.
Elated by the results of the survey, MD and CEO of Bangalore International Airport Limited Hari Marar said that this was a reward for the airport community for their efforts and commitment.
He added that they would continue to improve their service quality and amenities to maintain their position for the next three quarters and expressed his hopes of being rated the Best Airport of the Year.
KIA is the third largest airport in India and the busiest one in South India.
