Kolar: Police has seized goods including a lorry worth Rs. 13 Lakh, which was transporting fake agricultural commodities for the agricultural work of farmers in the Taluk.
At a time when there is heavy rainfall in the current year and a smile on the faces of the farmers, it is a matter of concern that a network of sale of fake farm produce is mushrooming.
An agri-businessman, had registered a camel brand in the name of S. V. Enterprises to provide quality material to the farmers. However, a trader at Bangarapete APMC Yard, Masjid Road, had been copying the brand and selling substandard goods at a price lower than the prescribed price for several months.
From this, the former business was undergoing loss as well as farmers were conned. After the businessman lodged a complaint with the Police, the Police Department seized lorry which was illegally transporting substandard agricultural commodities. The businessman has demanded that the accused be arrested and a proper investigation should be conducted and disciplinary action should be taken against him.
The Police has registered a complaint against the latter and the owner of the lorry in which illegal transportation was taking place.
