Kolar: The Srinivasapura taluk of the Kolar district witnessed tense moments on Wednesday night and Thursday morning, following a clash between the supporters of former Union minister, incumbent MP and Congress candidate for the Lok Sabha elections K H Muniyappa and supporters of Speaker K R Ramesh Kumar.
According to police, the clash broke out in the Gaunipalli village. Sources say that the clash occurred during a meeting called in the village to discuss the party’s campaign. Police immediately rushed to the spot and dispersed the mob
It can be recalled that in the faction-hit Congress unit in Kolar, a majority of the leaders are against giving a ticket to Muniyappa. Meanwhile, Ramesh Kumar had announced that he would not campaign along with Muniyappa.
