Bengaluru: With the KSRTC employees going off road on Sunday morning itself, as against the initial plan of starting indefinite strike from Sunday midnight, Minister for Transport Ramalinga Reddy convened an emergency meeting with senior officers.
The agenda of the meeting is said be how to tackle the ongoing strike and to make alternative arrangements for the commuters.
Due to the flash strike, the public transport system was paralysed across the state.
Many employees attached to several depots in districts like Mandya, Gadag, Bengaluru and others have gone off from roads from Sunday morning itself leaving commuters in lurch. As usual, private tempo travelers, tum-tums were seen on road with full swing to commute passengers.
The government is ready to fulfill all the demands put forth by employees but reluctant to hike the salary as per their demand, as it is as much as 35 percent.
Meetings earlier held with both CM and Reddy failed regarding this sole demand as the government was ready to hike the pay by 10 per cent, which the transport unions turned down instantly.
