Bengaluru: Newly elected MLAs Kusuma Shivalli from Kundagol and Dr Avinash Jadhav from Chincholi were sworn in as MLAs. They were sworn-in by the speaker K Ramesh Kumar.
After the swearing-in ceremony, Ramesh Kumar asked Kusuma if she needed to know anything about the legislative proceedings and told Avinash to continue his PG medical course and become active in politics later.
Senior Congress and BJP leaders were also present on the occasion.
Kusuma, wife of former minister C S Shivalli, won in the Kundagol by-elections, while Avinash won from the Chincholi constituency which was vacated by his father Dr Umesh Jahav.
Umesh Jadhav quit the Congress to contest as the BJP’s MP candidate from the Kalaburugi Lok Sabha constituency.
