Bengaluru: Amidst fear that the BJP may topple the Karnataka state coalition government anytime soon, senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad rushed to Bengaluru on Sunday night along with AICC Karnataka in-charge K C Venugopal. Both the leaders will hold a meeting with senior party leaders on Monday at the KPCC office on Queen’s Road.
According to sources in the Congress party, former CM, Congress Legislature Party leader Siddaramaiah, KPCC president Dinesh Gundu Rao, DCM Dr G Parameshwara and other senior leaders will attend the meeting.
At the meeting, it is expected that topics such as the possibility of Operation Kamala, cabinet expansion and reshuffle, and dropping a section of Congress ministers from the state cabinet will be discussed.
The upcoming BBMP election will also be discussed at the meeting.
“It is for the first time that Azad is directly involved in the party’s state unit affairs,” said a Congress leader.
