Bengaluru: The residents of over 250 houses in Pushpagiri layout in Dodda Bidarakallu of the city flooded with the dirty water as the Hosakerehalli lake breached. This lake which is spread over 42 acres of land witnessed huge inflow following heavy rainfall across the city in the last one week.
The water level of the lake started increasing over the last three days. But as the BBMP authorities didn’t take up any remedial measures, on Sunday night the water started flowing out of the lake. It entered over 250 residences.
As the news spread, the BBMP sent its rescue teams in the night itself. The relief works are now in progress. The BBMP authorities assured a retention wall around the lake to stop further damage and inconvenience to the locals.
