Bengaluru: Belagavi (Rural) MLA Lakshmi Hebbalkar, a close aide of Congress strongman DK Shivakumar, met CM BS Yediyurappa along with Nayana Motamma (daughter of former minister C Motamma). It was a 30-minute closed door meeting.
There has been no immediate reaction from any leaders to this meeting. According to sources, Hebbalkar (who is working on destroying the Jarakiholi brothers clout in the Belagavi district) allegedly wanted BSY to deny disqualified MLA Ramesh Jarakiholi a BJP ticket for the upcoming by-polls
“It was her last attempt to block Jarakiholi’s entry to the state cabinet,” said a Congress leader who wished to remain unamed.
Meanwhile, according to Congress sources, Hebbalkar is trying to obtain a party ticket for Ashok Pujari in Gokak instead of Lakan Jarakiholi. “She is using DKShi’s clout for this,” said the Congress leader.
