Bengaluru: The High Court on Thursday granted bail to R Nagashekar, film director, and Ravi Verma, stunt master, in connection with the death of two actors at the TG Halli reservoir while shooting the climax scene for the Kannada film Maastigudi.Justice Rathankala passed the order while allowing the petitions filed by Nagashekar and Ravi Verma. They were denied bail by a court in Ramanagaram district based on a case registered against them by Tavarakere police on November 7.
In a tragic incident, two budding actors died on the sets of Duniya Vijay’s forthcoming Kannada movie Masti Gudi on November 7. Anil Raghav and Uday reportedly drowned while performing an action sequence in Thippagondanahalli Reservoir, 35 km west of Bengaluru.
The action sequence was being shot under the supervision of stunt master Ravi Varma. Duniya Vijay with Anil Raghav and Uday were part of the sequence where the three jumped into the lake, which is estimated to be between 30 to 60 feet deep, from the helicopter.
An FIR was filed at Tavarekere Police station against five members from the film unit, including director Nagashekar, action choreographer Ravi Verma and producer Sundar under IPC section 304, 188 and sub-section 34.
