Bengaluru: Minister for Bangalore Development K J George on Monday held a meeting at Vikas Soudha with the Food and Civil Supplies Minister U T Khader and city MLAs to discuss and find a solution to the increasing delay in issuing ration cards to beneficiaries in the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike limits.
Though the government had ensured that beneficiaries got ration cards at their doorsteps by introducing online system, still there were 1.5 lakh pending due to delay in verification of address and other details.
The minister stressed the need for coordination among the officials who were engaged in verification process and complete the procedure at the earliest so that beneficiaries were not put to inconvenience.
Transport minister Sri Ramalinga Reddy, Housing Minister M Krishnappa, Gandhinagara MLA Dinesh Gundurao, Rajarajeswarinagar MLA Shri Munirathna and others attended the meeting.
