Missing Ajitabh’s case delayed due to translation of Kannada documents

Bengaluru: In the now infamous case of the missing techie, Ajitabh Kumar, it has come to light that the CBI’s investigations are being delayed as over 1,000 pages of Kannada documents have to be translated.

After nearly a month’s probe into the case by the CID, they were ordered by the High Court to hand over the case to the CBI. Files in connection with the case were handed over to the CBI’s Chennai office. The move has been termed as a mere symbolic gesture as there are more than 1000 pages of documents, all in Kannada, which will take the CBI a long time to translate before taking the investigations forward.

Ajitabh (29) had gone missing almost a year ago when he went to meet a prospective buyer for his silver Maruthi Ciaz. The police suspect that the buyers are responsible for the techie’s disappearance. As the investigations did not move forward, Ajitabh’s family and friends had staged a protest in front of the Town Hall in Bengaluru, demanding that the case be handed over to the CBI. His father, Ashok Kumar Sinha even moved the High Court, on January 2, to transfer the case to the CBI as he had lost faith on the investigating team’s competence.
