Bengaluru: Kampli Congress MLA J N Ganesh, who has been languishing in prison for the past month for the assault on fellow party MLA, Anand Singh at a resort in Bidadi, has moved the High Court for bail.
It can be recalled that, on March 26, his bail plea was rejected by the special court for people’s representatives in the city.
Ganesh’s advocate moved the bail plea in the High Court on Thursday, March 27. The MLA has been accused of assaulting MLA Anand Singh on the midnight of January 19 at a resort. He was arrested in Gujarat by the Bidadi police. He was later suspended from the Congress party.
The incident occurred when the Congress kept all its MLAs in the resort to foil the BJP’s efforts to topple the state government through ‘Operation Kamala’.
