Chikkamagaluru: More than 30 BJP leaders from Eshwarhalli in Chikkamagaluru joined the Congress opposing “dictatorship” by the party seniors.
Eshwarahalli village BJP leaders Santhosh, Sunil, Basavaraju, Gajendra, Shiva, Manjunath, Prakash, Nataraj, Dayanand, Nagesh, Mohan and others joined the Congress at its office.
Addressing the gathering, former MLC M V Gayathri Shanthegowda said, “We welcome the leaders wholeheartedly for accepting our party ideology and joining Congress without any conditions. Dictatorship never lasts long and here is the example as more than 30 leaders have quit their party.”
“You can approach us anytime in connection with development of our village and the state government has given several pro-people schemes to develop the state. But BJP leaders are finding stones in milk and misleading the public with lies,” she alleged.
Gayathri Shanthegowda and District Congress Vice President K S Shantegowda welcomed the leaders into their party.
