Bengaluru: The Namma Metro east-west corridor which started to operate last week has yielded expected results in terms of income.
BMRCL has earned Rs 40 crores in the very first week itself, which has surprised the officials themselves.
The annual revenue is expected to reach Rs 100 crores.
Speaking to media, BMRCL General Manager, Pradeep Singh Kharola said that, the revenue generated in the first week was quiet unexpected.
There was no technical problem as reported by media. It was just a precautionary measure taken due to the heavy down pour in the city, he clarified.
Majestic to Sampige Road junction corridor will soon be completed which will provide better connectivity in coming days, he added.
The underground boring work between Chikpete and Majestic is expected to be completed by this month end. Only 70 meters of tunnel boring work is pending, Kharola said.
