Bengaluru: A 35-year-old woman, trying to smuggle ketamine and cocaine concealed in noodles packets kept in her handbag was arrested from Bengaluru on August 1.

The arrested, Grace Roy is a native of Darjeeling and has been residing at TC Palya in the city for last four years. Acting on a tip-off Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) sleuths arrested Roy from the bus station while she was alighting from the Mumbai-Bengaluru sleeper bus. They found her to be in possession of top-quality cocaine worth Rs 1.2 crore and Rs 50,000 worth ketamine hid within the noodles packet in her handbag. The officials grew suspicious as the packets appeared to have been opened and re-sealed. Upon verification, the drugs were found concealed within the packets.

The NCB, in a press note, said that Roy was found to be in possession of 200 grams of cocaine and 100 grams of ketamine. She was arrested for conscious possession and trafficking of drugs.

It is gathered that Roy was supposed to hand over the cache of drugs to a dealer in the city.
