A new flyover loop at Bengaluru’s Hebbal junction—linking Nagavara to the main carriageway—is nearing completion and is expected to open shortly, police officials confirmed.
This long-anticipated infrastructure addition aims to address severe congestion at the Hebbal interchange, a critical node receiving traffic from KR Puram, the airport road, and Nagavara.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (Traffic – Northeast) Pradeep BU shared the update on X (formerly Twitter), stating, “New Hebbal flyover loop coming from Nagavara getting finished… to be soon open… This will ease traffic at Hebbal.”
While the announcement has sparked cautious hope among commuters, concerns persist.
Some citizens welcomed the update but stressed the urgency of opening the remaining loops to truly resolve traffic snarls. “That’s a partial relief. Waiting for the other loop to be opened,” one user noted.
Others warned about potential new congestion zones forming nearby, particularly near the Baptist Hospital bus stop, where merging traffic could lead to fresh bottlenecks.
A commuter cautioned, “The jam point is just moving 250 metres. Traffic merging at the 2.5-lane Baptist flyover could be chaotic.”
Additional frustration has surfaced over metro construction between Manyata Tech Park and Kalyan Nagar, where roadside barricades are said to be worsening peak-hour traffic.
“Metro barricades are narrowing roads. Please speed up the work or realign them to reduce chaos,” urged a concerned motorist.
Officials are expected to monitor post-launch traffic patterns and coordinate with metro authorities for better traffic flow.
