Bengaluru: A newlywed couple from Bihar committed suicide on Dayananda road in the Srirampura area of the city.
The deceased are identified as Rahul (30) and his wife Rani (26). The couple married just four months ago.
Rani’s body was found hanging from the ceiling fan while Rahul died after consuming poison. The Srirampura police have launched an investigation into the incident.
It is learnt that the couple was staying in a rented house. “The incident came to light when the house owner tried to give them their electricity bill. When the couple didn’t open the door, he grew suspicious and informed the police,” added police.
The police are investigating all angles, including whether the couple committed suicide because of the lockdown or if they had any family troubles.
