Bengaluru: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has allegedly raided the residence of former MLA late Idinabba, on suspicion that his great-granddaughter and her family has joined ISIS.

Idinabba’s great-granddaughter Ajmal, the granddaughter of his son Ismail, and her family went missing three years ago. Ajmal is the daughter of Ismail’s daughter. Ajmal was married to Siyaz, an MBA graduate from Kerala.

Siyaz, who left for higher education in Sri Lanka years ago, has not been available for communication since then. According to information, Siyaz is suspected to have moved to Muscat and then to Qatar, where he joined ISIS. Siyaz’s brother, a doctor, is also missing, as is his wife.

With this information, the Kerala Internal Security and Intelligence Department and the NIA began an investigation, and it is believed that the raid on late Idinabba’s house was carried out as part of this.

Ajmal’s family is alleged to be among 17 Kasargod residents who joined ISIS in Syria two years ago.
