Bengaluru: As the Café Coffee Day Founder V G Siddhartha went missing about 30 hours ago, a letter, allegedly written by him to the Café Coffee Day Board of Directors, on Saturday, July 27 has brought the IT department in the eye of storm.
In the letter, Siddhartha talks about the mental trauma he went through due to the behaviour of the IT department officials, specifically an IT DG.
“There was a lot of harassment from the previous DG, income tax in the form of attaching our shares on two separate occasions to block our Mindtree deal and then taking possession of our Coffee Day shares, although the revised returns have been filed by us. This was very unfair and has led to a serious liquidity crunch,” the letter read.
But on the other hand, the Income Tax Department officials claim that the signature on the letter sent to the CCD Board of Directors and signature that Siddhartha signed in their documents did not match. The IT department has clarified that the tycoon was not harassed by them.
Meanwhile, the CCD Board of Directors have vouched for the genuineness of the letter.
