Bengaluru: Amidst reports of ten Congress MLAs joining the BJP, the party’s national leadership has asked its Karnataka unit president B S Yeddyurappa not to go ahead with ‘Operation Kamala’ till Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s swearing-in ceremony.
According to sources in the BJP, on Friday, Yeddyurappa communicated to the party national leaders that he is ready to undertake ‘Operation Kamala’. They, however, asked him to wait till NaMo’s swearing-in ceremony as the ‘operation’ would send a wrong message to the country.
According to the BJP state leaders, ten Congress MLAs are ready to switch sides.
BJP national leaders left with no option
A senior BJP leader also said that the party’s incredible performance in Karnataka has left the national leaders helpless in front of state BSY. “Yeddyurappa is the man of the moment. He delivered what the Modi-Shah duo expected of him and now they need to give him permission for ‘Operation Kamala’,” said the leader.
