Bengaluru: The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) will not use the pictures of politicians and the people’s representatives in its advertisements henceforth.
According to N Manjunath Prasad, Commissioner, BBMP this decision has been taken as per the directions of the recent Supreme Court order. “This applies to projects taken up by the BBMP, the state government, and the central governments,” he stated.
“Same rules apply to the BBMP pure drinking water units, Indira canteens, and the bus shelters too,” he stated.
He directed authorities to ensure that Supreme Court order is strictly followed while releasing the advertisements and the news reports. “Only the pictures of all those personalities who are exempted from the Supreme Court order must be used in the BBMP advertisements,” he directed.
