Bengaluru: In a big relief to the builders and businessmen of coastal Karnataka, underworld don Ravi Poojari has been arrested by Interpol in Senegal, an African country.
According to the state police, who are coordinating with the Maharastra police and CBI to trace Ravi Poojari’s hideouts, he has been arrested after entering into Senegal from Burkina Faso in western Africa.
Incidentally, on Thursday, a builder from Bengaluru had approached the CCB police alleging that a person had been contacting him under the name of Ravi Poojari and demanding hafta. The CCB police had alerted all the national security agencies in this regard.
“His wife is already in the police net in Mumbai. The Maharastra police are trying their best to bring Poojari to India, as more than 60 cases are pending against him in various stations in Mumbai,” said a senior police officer.
It can be recalled that, since the past few days, Poojari has been calling anti-BJP leaders across the country and warning them of serious consequences if they continue to oppose the Prime Minister.
