Bengaluru: Now knowing details of property in Karnataka is easier. With the new Dishaank App citizens can learn the exact survey number of a property or whether the property stands on lake bed. Prospective buyers in cities like Bengaluru can now verify and validate the property details with just a tap on mobile screen.
The App, released by the Revenue Department, has details of properties in the entire Karnataka. It shows 1960 survey maps of Karnataka available with the revenue department. People can easily identify whether the property encroaches restricted areas or not, as the maps used show the original condition of the land before major development happened.
However, the maps cannot be considered as a legal document. Commissioner of Survey, Settlement and Land Records Munish Mudgil said that the app was only for referral purposes. Maps used have 20-30 meter scale difference.
The Dishaank App is available on the Google Playstore. The easy-to-use Android App can be used to obtain survey number details. Maps can also be accessed by typing the survey number. It displays whether the location is a road, lake, government land, gomal land or Rajakaluve.
Similar apps launched by other civic agencies such as Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), Bangalore Metropolitan Region Development Authority, do not have the feature to know the original condition of the site.
The Revenue Department has plans to incorporate property owner details to make it more helpful in the future.
