Moodbidri: Nearly a week after two youth out on a hunting expedition at Karinje foothills were electrocuted, the police, on March 29 arrested a person responsible for laying of live electric wires in the area.
The arrested, Shekar is a resident of Aranta Bakyaru and has been sent to 15-day judicial custody. In his confession, Shekar has reportedly admitted to laying the electric wires that led to the death of Greshion Rodrigues, resident of Pranthya village and Praveen Tauro(32), resident of Karinje Kakkebettu on March 22.
Meanwhile, the police are on the lookout for another accused, who went missing soon after the news of death came to light. As per reports, the accused had laid the high tension electric wires with the intention of hunting down animals. Unfortunately, the two youth who had gone hunting in the area had come in contact with the wire, and this had led to their death. Their bodies were found in the paddy fields at Karinje forest foothills.
