Outer Ring Road to Face Restrictions for Metro Girder Launch at Salem Bridge
The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (BMRCL) will be launching a 65-meter composite girder across the Salem Bridge (railway crossing) near Doddanekkundi, close to Rainbow Hospital, on Monday and Tuesday. This work will take place between 9pm and 6am within the jurisdiction of HAL Airport and Mahadevapura traffic police stations.
As a result, traffic on one side of the Outer Ring Road (ORR), heading towards KR Puram, will be blocked. However, the other half of the road will remain open to two-way traffic during the same hours on both days.
There will be additional restrictions along a 200-meter stretch of the left side of the ORR, from the Marathahalli side towards Tin Factory, between Metro pillars 434 and 435.
For commuters, an alternative route is available: Vehicles traveling from Marathahalli to Tin Factory and Hebbal can turn left near Marathahalli bridge, continue on HAL Airport Road, take a right at the Suranjandas Road junction, reach the NGEF junction, turn right again, and proceed towards Tin Factory and Hebbal.
Conversely, drivers heading from Tin Factory towards Marathahalli can take a left turn near KR Puram railway station, proceed on ITPL Road, turn right near Hoodi junction, and continue towards Marathahalli via Kundalahalli.
