Bengaluru: The 58th City Civil and Sessions Court on Saturday granted bail to Narayanaswamy, former Congress block president K.R. Puram who was arrested by the Ramamurthy Nagar police for threatening to set the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) office at Horamavu on fire.
The accused was granted bail on condition that he should cooperate in the investigation, should not leave the city nor threaten the witnesses, and not hamper investigation.
A mobile footage of his entire act which was recorded by one of the staff members went viral two days after the incident occurred.
Narayanaswamy was seen abusing the Assistant Revenue Officer Chengal Rayappa and intimidating him by dousing petrol all over the cupboards and furniture at his office, forcing him to register a property which was in litigation.
