Bengaluru: Novelist Devanur Mahadeva has accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s administration of being ‘anti-people’ and untrustworthy.
Addressing the media on Monday, December 16, the novelist said, “The people of the country had put a lot of faith and confidence in Narendra Modi and elected him twice as the PM. But he has not lived up to the expectations of the people and has turned out to be untrustworthy.”
“He has already given a shock to the people of the nation by implementing the infamous ‘demonetization’ and as the people were still recovering from that trauma, he brought in the Citizenship Amendment Act, 2019. By this, he has damaged the social fabric of the country,” he added.
Devanur also compared PM Modi to a Kannada comedy daily soap character named “Lalitamba”.
Mocked the PM, he said, “PM Modi is like Lalitamba of the Kannada comedy serial ‘Silli Lalli’, where she plays the role of social activist and keeps saying ‘believe me… believe me… This applies to PM Modi as he keeps saying this. In my opinion, his administration has been religiously biased and has only incited communal disharmony. By bringing in the Citizenship Amendment Act, he is trying to instigate the minorities. The days are not far when people will begin to regret their decision to elect Modi as the PM.”
