Mangaluru: A book named “PentAlmanac” under the title of ‘tides of accomplishments’, comprising the details of MLC Ivan D’Souza’s five years as a legislator, was released at his office in the Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) building on Monday, December 16.
Information including details of discussions undertaken by Ivan in the Legislative Council, the impact of the discussions, money spent on victims and various development works through his MLC fund, Chief Minister’s Relief Fund and others, have been mentioned in the book. The information was gathered and compiled into this book by a group of three members led by St Aloysius College Registrar Prof A M Narahari.
After releasing the book, Prof Narahari said that no exaggerations have been made about the achievements of MLC Ivan D’Souza. “All the details in the book are facts and there is no falsehood. He never missed a single session during his five years as a legislator, which shows his commitment, responsibility and zeal for serving the people,” he said.
Ivan D’Souza, speaking to the media, said that he had succeeded in bringing compensations of around Rs 6.5 crore from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund alone, during his tenure. “The compensation was disbursed to the victims irrespective of caste or religion. I will continue my pro-people service during the remainder of my term, which is another year,” he added.
