Police nab nine, recover Rs 1 crore worth property, detect 25 cases

Bengaluru: The police have arrested nine people in Bengaluru and recovered property worth Rs 1 crore, according to Dr Boralingaiah M B, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Bengaluru South East Division.

Dr Boralingaiah said the recovered property include 1.50 kg gold, two kgs silver, three tippers, one car, four TV sets. “With the arrest of nine people, the police have detected 25 theft cases in Varthur and Electronic City police station limits,” Dr Boralingaiah said.

The Electronic City police have arrested Srinath (25) and Ramesh (26) of Puttampalli in Bagepalli taluk and recovered 510 gm of gold jewellery worth Rs 16.55 lakh and four TV sets from them. With this the police have detected eight theft cases in Electronic City police station limits and two theft cases in Ramamurthy Nagar police station limits. The accused have been remanded in judicial custody.

The police also arrested Srinivas (28) of Thimmarayaswamy Road, Anekal in Bengaluru Rural, Madhu (20) of 1st Cross, near Veerabhadraswamy temple, Dodda Nagamangala and Virupaksha (39) of Pillaganahalli, Gottigere, Bengaluru and recovered 580 gms of gold jewellery worth Rs 18 lakh. With this, the police have detected eight theft cases reported in Electronic City police station limits.

The Varthur police have arrested Rooparaj (30) of Hejjaladahalli in Hassan district and Ravi (38) of Hovinayakanahalli, Kodigehalli post, Bengaluru north and recovered three tippers worth Rs 50 lakh. By nabbing the accused, the police have detected three theft cases reported in Banaswadi and Varthur police stations.
The police have also arrested Shaik Arman alias Shaikh Babu (24), who hails from Kolkata and residing near water tank, Sharada School Road, Varthur and recovered 410 gms of gold jewellery worth Rs 13 lakh.

The Varthur police have also arrested Shankar Mehta alias Shankar (28), a resident of MVJ TCH College Road, Marathahalli and seized 5 kg and 100 gms of ganja worth Rs 1 lakh.
