Ramanagara: Residents of Bhadrayya colony of Bannikuppe(B) Panchayath of Ramanagara taluk agreed to cast their votes once the people’s representatives and officials agreed to their proposal of bridge construction across Nalligudde lake near the colony.

The people of the region were requesting for a bridge across the Nalligudde lake for many years.

The cold response of the political representatives and the officials towards the issue had irked the local people and they had decided to boycott polling in this Lok Sabha elections.

When the news of the election boycott by the villagers reached the people’s representatives they immediately rushed to Bhadrayya colony and handed over a copy of the order passed on March 8, 2019, by the PWD Port and Inland Water Transport Department for the construction of the bridge.

They promised to start the construction of the bridge immediately after the elections are over and requested the people to come out and vote.

The people of Bhadrayya colony have agreed to vote on the assurance of their representatives.

The people of Bhadrayya colony and surrounding areas suffer a lot during rainy season due to Nalligudde lake as there is no bridge.

They were continuously sending applications to the departments, which was so far neglected. The people of the area are waiting again to see whether they will get the work done as promised now.
