Bengaluru: A pregnant teenager died at the time of delivery in Chamarajanagar district. However, in a tragic twist, the twins that she delivered too could not be saved.
According to the health department sources, Ranjitha (19), a 34-week pregnant died at the district hospital on wee hours of Saturday, following a suspected cardiac arrest. She was brought to the hospital following the complaints of a severe cough. “Even though the team of doctors tried to take her to the operation theatre, she collapsed near the table. She started delivering kids after she collapsed. The first baby died at the time of birth itself. Another baby died nearly 12 hours later. Ranjitha died after delivering both the babies,” said doctors.
“She was suffering from the thyroid problem. It may be the possible reason,” doctors said.
