Bengaluru: The state government has decided to shift Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) to Archakarahalli said Ramanagaram district in-charge Minister D.K. Shivakumar here on Sunday.
Addressing the reporters here after a high-level meeting, minister disclosed that the state government has told the RGUHS to get ready to shift to Ramanagaram as per a long-pending plan.
He said that construction of the building for the university would begin in about three months. Till then, the university would operate from the Deputy Commissioner’s Office in Ramanagaram.
“On the lines of the Visvesvaraya Technological University operating from Belagavi and the Horticultural University working from Bagalkot, the RGUHS should function from Ramanagaram as part of the policy to remove regional imbalances,” he said. He said the land required, would be acquired soon.
