Ramanagara: Life was easier when there was no possibility to switch gender. At least that is what the family of Laxman Rao would say now having discovered their husband and father turned into Vijayalaxmi, having nothing more to do with his past as the man he no longer believes himself to be. 

And that’s the amount of grief that the concept of transgender has brought into our world of today, with this being just one case that the Aijoor police station registered. 

The head of the family was said to have been burdened with financial challenges, which would have led him to take on this new initiative as a welcome relief.

Relief it did bring, and with that, some exposure, as the transgender was later found in a reel, facilitating another such transgender by the name Neetu,.who was one of the participants of the Big Boss reality series. 

But perhaps exposure is not good for those having escaped from their families, for it is this very reel that brought him into light, leading his family members to alert the police. 

One can only imagine the emotions that the past wife would now go through on seeing her husband whom she now recognized as a transgender woman. That said, it is only fair that she got in touch with the reel’s creator, to further alert the police. 

The accused obviously denied his earlier identity, but there is little one can do to escape the hands of the police, when he was later forced to confess. On being confronted, he showed no desire to go back to his previous life and family. 

While this surely brings us to sympathize with the family, it’s hard to decide whether the accused is a cheat, or yet another helpless victim, burdened with life’s many struggles, that led him to the place where we now find him.
