Ramanagara: MLA A. Manjunath said that necessary steps have been taken to make the road from Magadi to Ramanagara functional.

A sum of Rs. 16 Crore has been sanctioned from Magadi to Ramanagara near Hospete Circle in the Town.

Speaking after performing land breaking pooja for road works, he said that the Magadi-Ramanagara Road was full of potholes. The vegetables, flowers and fruits grown by the farmers in and around Magadi need a good road to go to the market in Ramanagara for sale. Therefore, I have taken necessary steps to construct a well-equipped quality road using MLA’s m Fund,” he said.

The date for performing the pooja for the road work was fixed by Former Chief Minister H. D. Kumarswamy himself. However, he could not come on Tuesday November 1 as JD (S)’ Pancharatna Yatra to begin. This should not be misunderstood, he said, adding that work on a four-lane road to Magadi in Bengaluru, and a road up to Talekare handpost and Somwarapet is already underway. Roads and drains have also been constructed in rural areas, he said.

STRRR Road – Dabaspete to Tumakuru, Hassan Road to Magadi, Ramanagara, Kanakapura Anekal, Hosur, and Devanahalli Road will be ring roads. It is known as Satellite Town. The NGT had opposed the elevated corridor road. The road has to be made in the middle of the forest and it is being made a flyover corridor road, he said.
