Mandya: MLA C. S. Puttaraju displayed simplicity by sitting on the ground and eating prasadam amidst devotees and villagers.
“The farmers of the area had invited the MLAs to the ancient Anjaneyaswamy Temple at Hunise Thopu behind Melukote Hill on Saturday October 29, just like every year. The MLAs who arrived at 1.00 pm, offered special prayers to Lord Anjaneya. Later, prasadam was arranged separately for the MLAs in a house but the MLAs, who came amidst the devotees, sat amid them and ate kadamba, curd, milk and payasa. There is nothing right in the taste of Melukote prasadam,” he said.
MLA C. S. Puttaraju instructed the officials to prepare a plan for the construction of an asphalted road from Venkataramanaswamy Tank to Hunike Hatti in Melukote and get sanctioned at the earliest and start the work.
