Bengaluru: The locals caught a retired government employee red-handed misbehaving with a minor girl here at Chandra Layout and handed him over to the police on June 25.
The accused Chinnamaraiah has been booked under the provisions of POCSO Act.
According to reports, the accused entered the girl’s house seeing her parents away from home. He locked the door and allegedly misbehaved with the 12-year-old girl. When the girl screamed for help, the neighbours caught the accused and thrashed him in public before handing him over to the police.
“The accused has been booked under the POCSO Act and is arrested. His wife has filed a counter complaint against the girl’s relatives accusing them of barging into her house and assaulting her and her husband,” the police said. Chandra Layout police have registered a case in this regard.
