Rider, associates assault traffic inspector for seizing bike

Bengaluru: A traffic sub-inspector sustained injuries after he was attacked by a bike rider and a few others. The incident was reported from the Bommanahalli area of the city.

Jayaram T D (50) an inspector attached to the Bommanahalli traffic police station, was assaulted by one Gurumurthy and his associates at the Bommanahalli circle. It is learnt that the cop stopped Gurumurthy for riding without a helmet and for reckless riding.

“The police had seized his bike for not having documents and reckless riding. A few minutes later, Gurumurthy arrived with his associates and assaulted Jayaram. The accused is now absconding,” informed sources from the Bommanahalli police.
