Bengaluru: Gujarat Congress lawmakers camped in Bengaluru resort to escape alleged ‘Operation Lotus’ will return to their home state on Monday, August 7.
The lawmakers confirmed that they will be returning to their state on Monday and asserted that they would not fall for horse trading by the BJP or to any political pressure.
The 44 Congress lawmakers were staying at Eagleton resort after six of their party leaders switched over to the BJP. Congress leader and Energy minister D K Shivakumar who was raided by the IT department on Wednesday was hosting the lawmakers at the resort.
Senior Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhwi had alleged that the BJP had offered Rs 15 crores to their MLAs and accused them of ‘horse trading.’
Rajya Sabha polls are due on August 8 in the western state where Ahmed Patel from Congress is the key candidate.
