Bengaluru: Last week, a 35-year-old auto driver was arrested in Mysuru city for using a WhatsApp group to write the SSLC examination. He was appearing for the examination as a private candidate. He smuggled his smartphone inside the examination hall by putting it inside his undergarments. He was caught sending images of the question paper to a WhatsApp group for one of his friends who was answering the exam.
A similar incident was reported, where a 21-year-old youth was arrested in Banashankari of the city for following the same modus operandi (MO).
According to police, Mohammed Asif (21) appeared for the SSLC examination as a private candidate. He was unable to crack the examination even after four attempts. This time he decided to use technology to clear the examination.
As part of his MO, he smuggled a smartphone inside the examination hall by putting it inside his undergarments. He sent images of the question paper to the WhatsApp number of a minor girl, who was replying. The examination room supervisor, who got suspicious, caught him red-handed and handed him over to the police.
