Bengaluru: The state government announced a 10 per cent increase in the engineering course fee. A decision in this regard was taken after a meeting between higher education minister GT Devegowda and the representatives of the private engineering colleges.

It can be recalled that last week the state government increased medical UG and PG fee structure by 15%.

GT Devegowda informed that the private colleges were demanding a 25% increase in the fee, but the state government, after considering various factors including salary revision of the faculty by the colleges decided to allow 10 per cent fee hike.

It can be recalled that last year the Engineering fee was increased by 8 per cent.

Gowda also informed that there will be no change in the fee of the government college engineering fee.
