Bengaluru: Indian mythology talks of the unconditional love Shravan Kumar had for his parents. Though many believe that children have largely lost their attachment towards parents, a Shravan Kumar of modern times was spotted. This Shravan Kumar has won the hearts scores of people including Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra.
D Krishna Kumar, a resident of Mysuru is on a journey with his mother Chudaratna, from January 16, 2018, on a Bajaj Chetak scooter gifted by his father. Krishna’s mother had spent most of her life taking care of her home and when she wished to see Belur-Halebeedu, Krishna said “why not India?” The duo crossed Indian border to reach Nepal and the two are still exploring the world on the humble Chetak.
When Mahindra saw this unconditional love, he couldn’t resist gifting a Mahindra KUV 100 NXT to Krishna.
Taking to Twitter, Anand has tweeted, “A beautiful story. About the love for a mother but also about the love for a country… Thank you for sharing this Manoj. If you can connect him to me, I’d like to personally gift him a Mahindra KUV 100 NXT so he can drive his mother in a car on their next journey.”

Manoj has written, “This is a Gap Year I wish I had! Dakshinamurthy Krishna Kumar from Mysore left his banking job and travelled with his mom on a scooter. A total of 48100 KMs. The reason? His mother had not stepped out of her town & he wished to show her India!”
