Bengaluru: One of the open secrets in the Congress’ state unit is that DCM Dr G Parameshwara and former CM Siddaramaiah don’t see eye to eye. Both of them have been nurturing a grudge since 2013 and often, Parameshwara alleges that a few Congress leaders ensured his defeat in the 2013 Vidhana Sabha elections. But on Thursday, for the first time in the last six years, both the leaders held open talks.
According to sources, as part of the Congress’ ongoing rejigging efforts, Parameshwara invited Siddaramaiah for breakfast at his residence in Sadashivanagar. The latter obliged and the breakfast session continued for over one hour. Both the leaders held a one-on-one discussion about the prevailing political situation in the state and decided to work together to strengthen the party.
AICC Karnataka in-charge K C Venugopal also joined them in the middle of the session. No other leaders were invited.
