A minor fire broke out at a makeshift warehouse near Garuda Mall on Wednesday morning, triggering a brief scare but causing no casualties, officials confirmed.

The Fire Department received a distress call around 9:20 a.m. and promptly dispatched a fire engine to the site. Upon arrival, responders found the warehouse filled with thick smoke, although the flames were minimal.

Preliminary findings indicate that the incident was likely caused by a short circuit, said a fire department official. “There wasn’t much fire, but a large plume of smoke covered the area. Fortunately, the blaze was brought under control in about 20 minutes,” the officer stated.

At the time of the incident, no individuals were inside the facility, and no injuries were reported. Authorities ensured the surrounding area was secured, preventing further risk.

The quick response helped avoid what could have been a more serious situation in the busy central Bengaluru locality.
