Bengaluru: In the first meeting of Ram Mandir Trust held in New Delhi, it was the Pejavar mutt, oe of the ‘Ashtamaths’ of Udupi which announced the first donation for the temple construction.
Trust member, Vishwa Prasanna thirtha seer of the Pejavar mutt announced Rs.5 lakh towards the temple construction.
He handed over the cheque to trust treasurer Govind Devagiri.
Speaking on the occasion, the seer expressed confidence that the new mandir will come up at the earliest.
It can be recalled that late Pejavar Vishweshathirtha Swamiji was one of the top leaders who led the Ayodhya movement in the 1990s.
