Bengaluru: The police have arrested an SSLC student and filed an FIR against him for copying in the exam.

The accused identified as Mohammed Asif (21), who was writing the Kannada examination at the SGPTA School in Thyagaraja Nagar on Wednesday, March 27, was caught copying red-handed by examination supervisor Mahabaleshwara Bhat.

Reportedly, Mohammed took a picture of the question paper from his phone, which he was hiding in his underwear and sent it to his 17-year-old friend, a girl and she was sending him the answers. Asif was busy copying the answers when Mahabaleshwara caught him.

The exam supervisor informed the matter to his senior, Suresh Nayak, who complained about this to the Banashankari police. On enquiry, Asif said that he failed in the SSLC exam four times and this time he wanted to pass by hook or by crook.

Sources from the police say that Asif and his friend are booked under the Karnataka Education Act, 1983, and IPC sections 120 B (Punishment for Criminal Conspiracy) and 188 (Disobedience to an order duly promulgated by public servant).
