St.Mary feast:Police impose traffic restrictions in and around Shivajinagar

Bengaluru : In view of annual St. Mary’s feast and procession on Friday at Shivajinagar, the traffic police have made following arrangements: There will be no entry for vehicular traffic on Meenakshi Koil Street from Jyothi café Circle towards Russel Market and vice-versa. Vehicles will not be allowed to or from Broadway Road from the Cockburn Road junction.

There will be no entry for vehicular traffic on Dharmaraja Koil from its junction with Old Poor House Road towards Russel Market Taj circle. Vehicular movement, including BMTC buses, will be restricted from BRV junction on Cubbon Road towards Shivajinagar Bus stand. Vehicular traffic movement from Balekundry circle towards Shivaji Nagar Bus stand will not be allowed from 2 p.m.

Parking will be prohibited at the following locations: Russell Market area, Broadway Road, Meenakshi Koil Street, Central Street, Shivaji Road, Cunningham Road in between Balekundry Circle and Chandrika hotel junction, Union Street, Infantry Road, Cubbon Road, Hospital Road, Lady Curzon Road, VSN Road, Plain Street, MG Road, Brigade Road. Alternatively, parking will be provided at Kamaraj Road parking lot, opposite Army School; Main Guard Cross Road opposite Safina Plaza; Inside Cubbon Park, Jasma Bhavan road, RBANMS Ground, Dickenson Road.

Parking has been provided at Kamaraj Road parking lot opposite Army School, Main Guard crossroad opposite Safina Plaza, inside Cubbon Park on King’s Road, Jasma Bhavan Road, RBANMS Grounds (Gangadhar Chetty Road) and Muslim Orphange on Dickenson Road (next to the college).

Temporary bus stops for BMTC buses have been provided at four places.

Buses moving towards Ulsoor, Old Madras Road, KR Puram, Marathahalli, Varthur, Whitefield, Neelasandra and Viveknagar will stop on Cubbon Road from CTO to BRV Junction (towards north side of the road). Buses towards Jayanagar, JP Nagar, Srinagar, Shanthinagar, KH Road, Hosur Road, Koramangala and Bannerghatta will stop on Cubbon Road between BRV and CTO junction (Chinnaswamy stadium side). Buses towards Majestic, Vijayanagar, KR Market, Malleswaram, Rajajinagar and Mysore Road will stop on King’s Road near Queen’s Circle.

BMTC buses plying towards JC Nagar, RT Nagar, Yeshwantpur, Peenya, Mehkri Circle, Hebbal, Yelahanka, Jalahalli and Banaswadi will stop on Queen’s Road near Balekundri Circle (Parsi temple)

These restrictions will be in force from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. on September 8.
