Bengaluru: One of the biggest concerns expressed by the Congress leaders, at the time of the formation of the coalition government, was that the JDS leadership may use their power to take revenge against the NICE project and party leader Ashok Kheny, who was brought to the party by major irrigation minister D K Shivakumar. This fear is now coming true as, in a sudden development on Friday night, former prime minister H D Deve Gowda announced that he will ensure that action is taken against the NICE project.
Speaking at a meeting of the affected families of the NICE project at the city’s outskirts, HDD stated that the joint committee of the state legislature exposed the ugly truth of the project. “I will instruct the state government to take action based on the committee’s report. Our government will not be a mute spectator,” he said.
“Soon CM H D Kumaraswamy and DCM Dr G Parameshwar will speak on the issue,” he announced.
