Bengaluru: The state government has issued a notification officially making bars, pubs and clubs no smoking zones. If any bar, pub or club is found violating this notification, the owner will be penalised.
As per the order, pubs, clubs and bars need to set up separate smoking zones and get a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for the same from the local government authorities.
The decision to issue a notification in this regard was taken following the recent fire mishaps in hotels, bars and other places across the country, where alcohol is served.
The Dr. Vishal Rao committee formed by the state government has also recommended that they make pubs, clubs and bars no smoking zones to curb the increasing cases of cancer.
