Street and stage performances add glitter to youth fest

Sullia: A grand procession followed by numerous attractive stage performances added glitter to the youth fest (Karavai Utsav- Yuvajana Habba-Yuvajana Mela ) jointly organised by Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchyath (ZP), Youth Empowerment and Sports division, Taluk Panchyath, Town Municipal Council and United youth Board.
Inaugurating the newly constructed Janaki Kurunji Venkataramana auditorium, ZP Standing Committee member Asha Thimmappa Gowda called upon the youth to don the leadership role in building the nation and to safeguard the society.

Terming youth as the greatest assets, Asha Thimmappa Gowda said youth should inherit the rich culture in their lives in order to relay the same to the future generation. She also expressed, youth need proper guidance in their lives to achieve their dreams.

Chief Guest Jake Madhava spelt the essence of brotherhood in nation building and appreciated the efforts involved in organising youth fests which aid in the growth and sustenance of art, culture and language.

The attractive procession by different art groups and folk performances on stage drew wide appreciation from the select gathering.
