Bengaluru: The widening of Kuduru-Hulikal road has been stopped, after ‘Padma Shri’ awardee Saalumarada Thimmakka met Chief Minister Kumaraswamy on Monday, June 3. Thimmakka met HDK in the office of his residence ‘Krishna’, and informed him about the trees being cut down along Kunduru-Hulikal road for road widening.
CM Kumaraswamy who responded immediately, spoke to the officials concerned and ordered them not to cut trees and also asked them to change the route if necessary.
It may be noted that the chief minister’s decision has come after the media had recently reported the government’s decision to cut down the trees planted by Saalumarada Thimmakka.
